In 2019, a previously abandoned section of the Odesa* catacombs, the entrance to which is located on Taras Kuzmin (Hradonachalnytska) str, was hospitably opened to guests and residents of Odesa by experts and members of the Cultural Heritage public movement. Now you can take a walk, accompanied by trained specialists, the uncharted paths of underground Odesa and listen to the stories and facts, carefully collected by the local historians of Odessa and presented in an interesting way by accredited guides.
The Climbing Wall on the Health Track

The Odesa “Climbing Wall” is a unique outdoor sports and extreme recreation complex located directly on the Black Sea coast. The main attraction of the site is a large artificial outdoor climbing wall designed for rope climbing. It features dozens of routes with top-rope and lead belaying at various levels of difficulty — from simple routes for children aged 3 and older to vertical lines with an overhang for professional climbers.
City and national competitions in mountaineering, rock climbing, and rescue techniques are regularly held here. Visitors can train independently (after demonstrating their ability to use belay equipment) or take an individual lesson with an instructor who will teach them proper grip and coordination. In addition, the site has a cozy campsite where visitors can rent a tent or a wooden cabin and relax to the sound of the waves after an exhausting training session.
The “Shelrocks” Climbing Wall Bouldering Gym

The “Shelrocks” climbing wall is a modern indoor bouldering gym in Odesa, designed for active recreation enthusiasts of all skill levels. The space is specifically designed for bouldering — climbing low walls with challenging terrain, where thick soft mats provide safety instead of ropes. The venue offers a variety of routes that are regularly changed, allowing visitors to constantly try new challenges and develop coordination, endurance, and strength.
The center provides comfortable conditions for individual training and sessions with experienced instructors. Both adult and children’s groups operate here, where beginners are taught proper movement techniques and safe landing. Thanks to its cozy atmosphere and professional equipment, “Shelrocks” has become a popular hub of the Odesa climbing community, where visitors can train effectively regardless of the weather outside.
Kitesurfing on the Tyligul Estuary

The Tyligul Estuary is the cleanest and one of the deepest bodies of water in southern Ukraine. Since access to the open Black Sea is currently closed due to the mine threat, the estuary has become the main refuge for extreme sports enthusiasts. The body of water is completely isolated from maritime threats, while its unique geographical shape and constant winds create ideal conditions for safely riding the waves. Shallow waters near the shore and long sandy spits allow both complete beginners and experienced kiters to train comfortably.
Fully equipped permanent kite stations operate along the shore. They offer recreational areas and modern equipment rental (kites, wetsuits, and boards), while certified instructors conduct both individual master classes and complete 10-hour beginner courses. In addition to classic kitesurfing, visitors can learn windsurfing and the relatively new discipline of wing foiling.
Extreme ATV Tours

Extreme tours on all-terrain vehicles and powerful buggies take place across the picturesque and challenging terrain of the Odesa region. The most popular locations for rides are the areas surrounding the Kuyalnyk and Khadzhibey estuaries, as well as the steep slopes of Zhevakhova Mountain. These natural areas offer ideal conditions for off-road driving: deep muddy sections, steep sandy slopes, long high-speed straights, and natural obstacles that make the heart beat faster.
The organizers offer routes of varying difficulty — from relaxed introductory rides to hard-core extreme adventures for those who want to push the vehicles to their limits. Visitors can use modern, maneuverable single-seat and two-seat ATVs (for example, CF Moto). Before each ride, participants receive mandatory safety and driving instructions and protective equipment (a helmet, goggles, and gloves), while an experienced guide accompanies the group throughout the tour.
*Why Is the Name of the City Spelled “Odesa” with Only One “S”?
We write the name of the city as “Odesa” with only one “s” in order to respect the Ukrainian spelling and the original Ukrainian name. Traditional international spellings with a double “s” may still be encountered, but the correct Ukrainian form is spelled with only one “s”.
